Feeling Drained

Recharge Your Batteries

Even though all of us are connected to Source at all times, you can drain your batteries or you can be more energized.

Maybe we're actually serving a belief where we don't realize there's another belief in the background that's actually working against us.

If you find it hard to say no and end up doing things that you don't want to do and every time you find it hard to say no you think, just do it cuz it's easier than saying no and dealing with conflict, then you are being drained. In other words, if you are more of a conflict avoidant type person chances are you also have beliefs you don't realize are running in the background. This means you'd rather disappoint yourself than disappoint others. You find it easier to disappoint yourself than disappoint others. You're also very likely to find yourself running very low on energy.

  • Are you also terrible at setting boundaries?
  • Do you let other people walk all over you?
  • Do you have trouble receiving?
  • Do you find when people give you something-you have a lot of trouble receiving and if you accept the gift you end up doing twice as much back to that person to prove to them that you are worthy and deserving of-what they've given you?

Be aware if you have these traits then you are all set up to be leaking energy:

  •  Trouble setting boundaries
  •  Trouble receiving
  •  Trouble saying no
  •  Being conflict avoidant
  •  Being a people pleaser
  •  Disappointing yourself rather than other people
  •  Throwing yourself under the bus

Your energy then gets forcibly taken by these things and leaves you without enough energy left  to actually fulfill your dreams and desires, your very purpose for being here.  You're actually using up almost all your energy and not leaving enough energy to fulfill your reason for being here. This is why it is important to be aware that you are doing this.

Ok, let's fix that energy leak: Create a Recharging List of all the things that energize you and all the things that you love to do, that make you feel alive, that recharge your batteries and energy. Spend an hour making and adding to the list. Examples:

  • sitting on the beach
  • watching the sunset
  • spending time with friends and/or loved ones
  • having a great meal
  • laughing over a glass of wine
  • downtime reading
  • going to a movie
  • taking a walk in nature
  • meditating
  • listening to music
  • painting
  • drawing
  • sewing

Don't put off doing what energizes you and you love to do until you've finished your to-do list because you might never finish the things on your to-do list.

Make a commitment that you will spend at least a certain amount of time doing Recharging items that matches the amount of time that you give to your to do list. If you spend 3-4 hours a day working, spend the same amount of time a day charging your batteries with things from the Recharging list.

You don't have to figure out what exactly is draining you and where you're leaking energy, because you're reviving yourself every day with Recharging things! So your only commitment is to make the time to go to the Recharging list. Prioritize the Recharging list as much as you prioritize your to do list.

Really look at your life. When you are feeling really drained it means that you're:

  • not being true to yourself
  • not following your own vision
  • trying to be whatever everyone around you expects you to be
  • not following your own purpose

The trick is asking yourself:

  • Are these things energizing or depleting?
  • Am I saying yes because I'm afraid the opportunity won't come again or because I really want to and it makes me excited to?

Something that excites and buzzes you is going to charge your batteries. Something you say yes to because you're afraid that you won't get the opportunity again may not recharge your batteries as much. You can say yes, but be aware that you need to recharge your batteries. You need to support yourself in other ways to keep your batteries charged. Be aware so you can then be more aware and more selective of the things that aren't completely making you feel passionate and recharged.

Figure out your bigger picture by going on an information detox. Stop taking in information from the outside. Shut off your devices, phone and computer. Spend a couple of days minimizing time on social media & emails, only doing what is really urgent. Then spend those few days just turning inwards, perhaps by doing Recharging activities. When you stop reading information and being engaged with your devices, it creates a gap between your thoughts. When you have a gap between thoughts, you allow space for insights to come to you. The insights come from our higher self, our guidance system. Insights find it hard to reach you when your mind is constantly overloaded. Your mind is full all the time searching and researching information which makes it harder to have insights. We seem to believe that information and knowledge is power but insights are even more powerful because they are coming from our own guidance system, our own higher self.

Recap: If you're feeling drained and/or dealing with a health issue, start with making a Recharging list of the things you want to do and make it as important as a to do list. When you can make the time for it, go on an information detox and ask yourself what is my bigger picture? When you set the intent, allow the insights to come to you. Talk with people who will support you and your ideologies. Surround yourself with likeminded people.

Conquering Self Doubt

Sometimes our challenges get bigger and bigger when we are trying too hard and the Universe is trying to communicate with us, but we get too much in our mind. When our higher self communicates with us, it needs for our mind to be out of the way and in a lighter space.

We judge ourselves and beat ourselves up for not getting it. We come down on ourselves by saying to ourselves that we should know this by now and if we did then the challenges would stop happening. We try to figure out what we're doing wrong.

Pretend you're your own little child or pet and say OK Beautiful:

  • How can I take care of you?
  • How can I nurture you more?
  • Whatever the Universe does I will support you through this.

When others give to you, don't feel obligated to give back. Receive and be who you are.

Sometimes challenges, including physical ones, are gifts from the Universe to make us stop and receive its gifts that it has for us.

Finding Your Purpose

Follow your passion and figure out what brings you joy.

Don't worry about the fact that you were a people pleaser. Instead focus on being who you came here to be by doing what gives you joy.
